Here's the flyer from the Wormy Dog Saloon in Oklahoma City where Tracy played on Oct 12, 2006. The guest who played before him was a dear friend of mine, Derek Sholl www.dereksholl.com. Derek is originally from here in Southern CA and has recently relocated to Texas. With a song already out on the radio called "Pray for Me", be on the look out for him in your area. Just like Tracy, he is also an awesome entertainer. I am so very excited that Derek and Tracy played together at the same venue. I have told Derek many times I hope some day you can share the stage with Tracy Byrd. So when Derek emailed me and told me that he was indeed going to be playing with Tracy I was so excited that I just felt like screaming. LOL!! He knew I'd be thrilled. The only sad part is that the timing was such that I wouldn't be able to be there. I asked Derek to please be sure that there was a photo taken of him and Tracy together for me. He said that he would. I had some friends attend this show, Glenn and Edna Coonrod from MO. and they took the photos below to share with everyone. Thank you Glenn and Edna for all that you do. And yes there is a photo of Derek and Tracy together. The background is pretty dark so therefore you can't clearly see the outline of Tracy's hat in the photo. Never the less I am thrilled to have this photo. I just hope that in the future they will have the opportunity to share the same stage again and I will be able to be there. Tracy and Derek are two special men and very talented entertainers.
Tracy has been working very hard promoting his new cd. He has visited may Wal-Marts in the past week signing autographs and visiting with fans. I know that everyone who came out to see him and get this great new collection from Tracy is very grateful that he is taking the time to do this for the fans. The flyer below Liz and John Pearl from OK. got during their visit with Tracy at their Wal-Mart store. I have posted their photo with Tracy on the Fan Photo page. They have told me that they really have enjoyed seeing him and would travel pretty far to get an opportunity to see his show. I know we can all relate to that feeling. Many of us travel great distances to see him and the band. Thank you Tracy and all the guys for all the wonderful music and love you put into each and every show we all get to see. We love your music and really appreciate your talents.
Hello Byrdwatchers,
The Labor Day concert here in
Beaumont was great this year. The show
started about 6 pm with a group called Tru-Soul
(old motown favorites) then Yolanda Adams
sang (gospel). Mark Chesnutt sang an
acoustic set with Cary, Delaney & Steve.
They did a great job. Then local group Zona
Jones & Swingwest came out & rocked the house
with new & old songs. Tracy Lawrence
joined them for a couple songs. Zona left the
stage & his band backed up Tracy Lawrence on a few
of his hits. Tracy Byrd then came out
& the Byrdwatchers went wild. Swingwest also
backed him up. His portion of the show was
great. The whole evening was just awesome.
All the performers did a fantastic job. We
also had the Dallas cowboys cheerleaders to entertain us
at intermission. Hope next year's show is bigger
& better. Hope to see some of you on the
road sometime.
Carol
Photos are soon to come!
I found this article on the following web site. It is a wonderful interview with Tracy from Christian Lamitschka. I have included the article and the link to his web site below. Enjoy!!! www.countryhome.de/interviews/interview_eng_2006/tracy_byrd_2006.htm Interview with Tracy Byrd 2006
Tracy, please introduce yourself to our German Country Music fans first, as not all of them may know you. Tracy: That is hard to believe – anyway – My name is Tracy Byrd. I have been doing music here in the States for 20 years now – cutting records, having radio releases and doing everything else that the business involves. Originally I come from Beaumont in southeast Texas, close to Houston. I do still live in Beaumont. I will always remain Texan and try to do good Texan music. Christian: So people could really call you a country boy. What was 2006 like for you so far and what has happened to date? Tracy: 2006 has been great. We worked on a new deal and basically started our own record label and have cut, what I believe, is the best record that I have ever cut. We did things a little different on this project and cut the record in a smaller studio a bit out of town, Studio West. We had some different pickers on this record and the collection of songs on this record is the best that we ever had. I am very excited about this. I have been in this business for a long time, but I still get excited when I am going to the studio, especially when the songs are so great. Christian: Can you already give us some more details about the songs that will be on your next album? Tracy: Yes, the first single release has already been decided. It is a song titled "The Cheapest Motel in Town". It is a sad song about cheating telling the story of a man who cheats, gets caught and has to realise that this cheap motel and his cheating has cost him everything. It is a real traditional sounding song in both the lyrics and the sound. The whole album is very traditional as most of my albums have been. Of course, today ‘traditional’ has a different meaning as it may have had 30 or 40 years ago, but I am still an artist doing more traditional Country Music than a lot of other artists. There is a swing tune on the album called "Biggest Thing in Texas" and several ballads as well as some fun country up-tempo songs. Christian: Did you write the song of this upcoming single? Tracy: No, the song was written by a new artist on Sony Records, Cole Deggs. He wrote it together with Trey Matthews and my co-producer Mike Geiger. I almost did not get this song and had to fight pretty hard for it. I felt it was a hit and that it fit me real well, so I did fight to get it. I wrote two of the songs on the album, "She Was Smart" and "Hot Night in the Country". Christian: What inspired you to those songs? Tracy: "She Was Smart" was inspired by a line a guy said to my co-writer one day. One night he met this really rich man at a dinner who told him that he had once met a girl who would have been the perfect one for him, but he could not settle down long enough at that time. The girl realised that and he admitted that she was just to smart to marry him then. Christian: Tracy you are known to be someone who has a special relationship with his fans and that gives everything for them. What does that mean exactly, can you explain it a bit better for our European readers? Tracy: When I was growing up I was a fan of Alabama and saw them become a real big band. Alabama was a band that has always given everything to the fans and gave them all the credit that they deserved. I believe it is a natural thing to do – if you look at anybodies career you realise that without the fans buying the records, listening to the music and going to the shows, the artist would not have a career. So I think it is something I owe the fans – to take time to meet them, listen to them, get to know them as they know me and so on. We have a fan meet and greet before every show for example. All of this takes time, but it is very rewarding – you find out about your fans, about what they think about your music and you hear some great stories. Christian: Tracy, you are on the road for a long time every year and live on the tour bus. Can you tell us a bit more about what it is like to live on a bus and on the road? Tracy: From time to time it can get a bit stressful as the space on the bus is limited and every one of us, me and 10 other guys, has a their own character. Luckily I have worked together with the same people for many years and we know each other well. We know what upsets the other and we try not to do that. I am proud to say that during these 15 years on the tour bus we have never had a fight on the bus. The key for me to keep healthy on these long tours is to get off the bus whenever I can – I enjoy playing golf for example. Christian: Tracy, do you have a special message for your European fans? Tracy: I am looking forward to going to Europe. We have talked about it for a long time already. But so far we have just not been able to put it together. I am confident that it will happen in the near future. I have some personal friends in Europe that I met at Country Fairs in the US and I know that there are a lot of Country fans in Europe. In the meantime I invite everybody to visit my website which keeps you updated with my career. The address is: www.tracybyrd.com .Christian Lamitschka
On May 30, 2006 Richard and Linda drove to St. Joseph, MO to the Civic Area to see our favorite guy, and to surprise him with a special plaque that we had made for him. We wanted to do something nice for Tracy for being good to my son Matt while he was here. You all know that Matt and Tracy knew each other for years. Matt was 10 years old when they first met and when he died he was 22 years old. Matt loved being a "Byrdwatcher". When we presented the plaque to Tracy he loved it. He said, I have a special place for my plaque. I knew he would love it. Tracy always put on a great show. He sang a lot of his songs that will be on his new CD in September. Songs like his new single "Cheapest Motel". We are all looking forward in getting the new CD, we are all excited. We know it will be a big smash!!!! Tracy and the band really put on a wonderful show, they all had fun. Here are a few of the pictures that were taken Linda Browne
I
was in Lakeland Fl for a big air show in April 06
On Sept. 18, 2005 my daughter-in-law Angie and I drove to Cape Girardeau to meet my friends Edna and Glen Coonrod to see our buddy "Tracy Byrd".
We
had Meet & Greet before the show and it was a blast.
When it was my turn to visit with Tracy, I of course gave
him a big hug and kiss and told him I missed him, then I
surprised him with a nice picture of Tracy and my son
Matt (that died on May 30), Tracy loved it.
I
never have played a joke on Tracy or anything like that but,
this time I wanted to do something fun.
Edna
was standing behind me in line and she yelled out
"Linda's going to take her shirt Off"
Tracy
looked at Edna and said, Edna you're getting to wild over
there! Then I looked at Tracy and said, I have one more
thing to show you. I undid my blouse, (of course I had a
shirt underneith) I wanted to show him my tatto that I got
of my son Matt. It is a heart with a yellow flower with his
name on it, at first Tracy turned his back and peaked over
his shoulder and then turned around and saw my tatto. After
I turned around he looked at me with a red face and said, I
am so glad that is all you had to show me!!!
Just
having fun with Tracy. I thought that was funny because I
finally got him!!!
He
is such a trooper!!! All in fun!!
The
show was a blast! Tracy and the guys put on a fantastic
show. Tracy sang a few of his favorite western swing songs
and we loved it. I just love it when he sings those songs.
One
more fantastic show! We all had a blast and can't wait for
the next show!
Tracy
is just a fantastic person and country music singer, we just
love him so much! By: Linda Browne
Her concerts photos are below and all their photos with Tracy and the band are on the fan photo page. Thanks Linda for the update. I know you had a ball! The photos are great!
There
is a story behind this photo (below) and the bag
The Labor Day Weekend Concert 2005 was a huge Success!!! Many of the people displaced because of Hurricane Katrina were invited to join the fun and the concert. The main events were Zona Jones, Mark Chesnutt and Tracy Byrd. Carol of Beaumont, TX was there for the big event and shared this story and photos with us. Thanks Carol. wish we all could have been there! The former Mayor of our hometown Beaumont Texas, is in charge of a beautification project at Ford Park. He had the idea for a "Walk of Fame" similar to that in Hollywood, CA. There will be several other local artists added. Tracy Byrd and Mark Chesnutt were the first to join the Walk of Fame. There was a short presentation and then Tracy and Mark rolled up their pant legs and stepped those boots of theirs into the wet cement. They were also surprised about the stars with their names on then as they were only expecting to do the footprints. Several people were involved in getting this project started and they came to my place of employment for suggestions. They had the "Star" idea and we just embellished them with real gemstones. Tracy's star has Mother of Pearl and Mark's has Blue Lapis. They are beautiful! I am honored to have been a pert of this project. Carol D. Beaumont Texas
Tracy's show at Castle Rock on Saturday was much better than the one in Broken Bow, NE on Tuesday night. The crowd was more into it and let him know it. The one at BB had a lot of teenagers standing around the stage carrying on conversations with each other while he performed. He ended up cutting out "Revenge of the Middle Age Woman" and only did "Running on Empty" for his encore. He didn't say too much during that performance and didn't waste any time leaving the stage. Saturday night he was back to his happy performing self as you may be able to tell from the photos. It was a general admission show, but they gave the Douglas County VIP's, rodeo queen's, commissioner's, etc. the first 15 center rows of seating. They did let the general public fill in the seats on the left and right sides of the stage, so I ended up getting a seat in the 5th row on the left side. The photos didn't come out as well as they could have since I was so far away. I did try and take a couple of the best ones to send to you. The lighting wasn't that great though. There were quite a few Byrdwatchers there, a lot I didn't recognize, but Edna, Glenn, and Bill were there. Here are a few photos. Stephanie Busch Thanks Stephanie for sharing the fun and your photos!
Stephanie from Denver, Colorado went to see the Country Rat Pack show and she's going to tell us all about it.
"Well, I saw on
your page how great Andy Griggs and Tracy were together
at the Fan Club party, now add Blake Shelton in on the mix and
you have triple the fun. These three sound fantastic
together--they play some of their own music with all three
joining in on each other's music, plus they play a great
selection of older traditional country songs. I wanted
to let you know just how great this Country Rat Pack (Tracy
Byrd, Andy Griggs, and Blake Shelton) show is. I just
added the two shows that they gave last night at the Rosebud
Casino about 9 miles north of Valentine, NE. The second
show they did last night not the same as the
first. It is a very impromptu performance where they
don't plan what their going to talk about or say, just
whatever flows out of their mouths. Totally hilarious.
Half of the songs they performed in the second show were not done
in the first--I noticed that Mark put down a different set
list for each show. With the shows being
acoustic, you get to really hear what fabulous voices
all three of them have.
I managed to get
front row seats for both shows even though it was general
admission. I didn't think I had a chance for the second show
since they were lining up while the first on was still going
on. I was about 150 people back in line for the
second show, but for some reason people didn't fill in three
of the front row seats.
Because I was up so
close, I had to zoom out with the camera to fit them all
in. I had a difficult time
getting any shots of all three of them without the
microphone splitting up the middle of one, two or all
three of them.
I do know that all three of them have busy individual summer
touring schedules to full-fill also. I
hope you enjoy the photos."
Stephanie
Thanks Stephanie for the great story and the awesome photos. Looks like it was a great time!!!
Cara
from LA went the the Baton Rouge show on May 20, 2005 and
brought back this report: The show Friday night in Baton
Rouge at the Argosy Casino was just awesome. I enjoyed this
show better than any other I have been to in the past (even
though they were all great). A lot of people went up to the
stage and stood there (me included). Tracy really pleased this
crowd. He participated with the crowd more than I have ever
seen him do before. He took people's cell phones and sung into
them, he took peoples drinks and drank them. He went down the
whole crowd of people that were close to the stage and shook
everybody's hand that he could and he just put on a wonderful
show. He sung Cowgirl, Misery and Gin, Margaritaville, and all
of his usual hits. After he went off stage I told the people
that were around me to scream real loud and he would come back
out and sing again and we all did and sure enough they came
back out and sang two more songs.
Cara and her family didn't have to go too far when Tracy and Andy Griggs and others came to town, in Monroe LA. May 13, 2005. She reported that it was an awesome show. Great photos! Thanks for sharing the fun Cara!! Here's Cara's story and photos: The show was absolutely amazing. Me and my family really enjoyed it. It lasted from 6:45 until around 11:30 PM. The first performer was Gerald Huffman who won the talent contest. I missed his performance because Tracy's meet and greet was at 7:00 but I could still hear him singing, I just didn't get to actually SEE him performing. Tracy was his usual friendly and caring self during the meet and greet. The person that was standing there letting everyone back there said that everyone only had 15 seconds to get an autograph and a picture but when it was our turn we talked to Tracy for what seemed like at least 10 minutes. The person was trying to rush us up but Tracy was talking to us the whole time and did not care that they were trying to rush us. He just kept on talking to us and signing several things. I finally said Tracy you don't have to put my name on every one of the pictures (it was about 3 or 4) because they are trying to hurry us up. Anyway, it was just great to see him again. He really loved my two Tracy Byrd purses that I had. One I made and the other one was a small box purse that someone made for me. My daughter toted the small one and he signed it. The whole concert was great. The Honky Tonk Tail Gate Party tour group performed after Gerald Huffman, and then Andy performed and he brought out Tracy for a few songs and then Andy left and Tracy finished up the show but not before he brought Andy back out to sing some songs with him. They did not do The Truth About Men Together but they did do Blake Shelton's "Some Beach Song". They did a lot of joking around together. At one point, Andy either accidentally knocked Tracy's hot off or maybe he just grabbed it on purpose, I couldn't really tell but anyway, he then put Tracy's hat on his own head for a few minutes. Tracy made a comment about looking better with his hat off.
On
April 9, 2005, we drove up to Taylorville, Ill. to see my
favorite guy, "Tracy Byrd". Linda Browne
Thank
you Linda for the nice summary of the show and the kind words
for Bubba and Craig! Kitchen Koncepts...Bringing Fun to your Kitchen, is what they say.
Kitchen Koncepts is the beautiful store that Tracy and Michelle own. You can shop for gourmet coffees, spices, including Tracy's very own, crystal items, pewter serving pieces, giftware, kitchen gadgets, and wonderful cookware. They have it all for the kitchen.
Great Acoustic Concert
with Tracy, Andy Griggs and LeeAnn Womack!!!! San
Diego CA
Tracy,
Lee Ann Womack and Andy Griggs teamed up for San Diego, CA
radio station US 95.7 for their First Anniversary show and did a
charity benefit acoustic concert for Children's Miracle
Network. It was
held at the Viejas Casino, in Alpine, CA, January 25, 2005.
The show was sold out, so I bet they did well for the
charity. To see the great photos the radio station took
like the one here of Tracy singing and the one below of the
gang go to www.us957.com
and click on photo album. What an awesome show. It was really different and super fun. All 3 artists were on stage at the same time sitting on stools, with their back up musicians behind them. Tracy had Johnny Lee and Dan with him on stage. Marc was there too but doing the behind the scenes work of a road manager. The artists took turns singing their hits and in between talking and just making us laugh with their stories and experiences. Tracy and Andy really got going with the stories. It was great! There were times that the whole audience roared. They were all so funny. When it came to singing, Tracy started with 10 Rounds, then Drinkin' Bone, Watermelon Crawl, Revenge of the Middle Aged Woman, Johnny Cash, Tiny Town of course the Bob Wills Classic, Rollie Polly, and ended with his signature song Keeper of the Stars. Lee Ann said to Tracy that she was all choked up after hearing him sing Tiny Town, that was a very touching song. Tracy did announce that Tiny Town would be his next single. Lee Ann and Andy sang many of their hits as well. As each one was singing their own songs, you could see the other artists singing along with them, very cool! They all ended the show singing together with the audience, Will the Circle be Unbroken. They gave us goose bumps, it was so good! Everyone just had a ball. It was a great show!!!
Selina,
A special Present from Linda Browne of MO. On
November 13, 04 we drove from Catawissa, MO to Little
Nashville in Nashville, Indiana to surprise Tracy with an
early Birthday present. I just love surprising him. This
time he was speechless. When I walked up to him to give him a
hug when it was my turn for meet & greet, I hugged him and
told him that I had an early birthday present. I handed him a
CD of the late "Jimmie Rogers", one of Tracy's
"Hero's". Then I handed him the plaque I made
him of "Jimmie Rogers". Tracy's words were: I love
it! He said, you always surprise me with nice gifts, then he
looked at me and couldn't say anything. He reached up and
grabbed me and gave me a big hug and a kiss and said, thank
you I love my plaque.
WOW, here's Tracy with his buddy Zona Jones. Zona was recently (June 2004) at the local club Wild Bill's there in Beaumont shooting a new video for his new single coming out and Tracy was there to give him a hand. Thanks to Beaumont's local girls, Carol and Penny for sharing these photos with us, we are able to feel like we were there too. I heard that was a fun and wild night!
Tracy was signing autograph and posing for pictures after the show at Billy Bobs in April 2004... Jo West TX Thanks for the photos Jo.
Tracy plays for the Troops at Fort Hood, Texas The article below was from www.liveDaily.com What was it like to play the concert for soldiers at Fort Hood who helped capture Saddam Hussein? It was awesome. I was there for two days. The whole two days were awesome. We signed autographs for a few hours the first day. Jeff Bates, who is a labelmate of ours, he and his band were doing a show the first day. We got up and did a few songs with him. Then the next day, it was just incredible. That was the really big show. They had us on a big stage. It was about 30 foot up in the air. They estimated there were 90,000 people there when we did our show. People are far as you could see. There were all these other stars. There were actors, all the wrestlers were there signing autographs. (World Wrestling Entertainment's) "Stone Cold" Steve Austin was there. Eddie Griffin, the "Undercover Brother" guy was there. It was really cool. There were just people from all walks of life there. Of course, we were all there for the same reason: to give a big welcome home to our troops who captured Saddam Hussein and had been away from their families for so long. That was the most touching thing, to see them with their families again. What was even harder to see was when we were signing autographs, so many kids and wives coming through the lines whose fathers and husbands are still in Iraq. All of [the kids] were wearing buttons with their daddy's pictures on them. They'd want me to sign things for their dad. It's just sad. I know how much I miss my kids when I'm gone for a week. These guys have been gone, some of them, a year and a half. It was touching. I felt good about bringing a little bit of joy to their lives. --------- Cara Kirkland and her Husband Robert from Calhoun Louisiana, were the lucky winners of the Country Weekly Magazine's contest to cook with Tracy Byrd on Lorianne Crooks show Celebrity Kitchen. The show will air on GAC on Thursday July 15, 2004. Cara was sweet to share her experience with us with lots of photos and stories. I hope you enjoy it. Here's what Cara had to say about that day. "Tracy is such wonderful man and talented artist. He was so sweet and caring. He's very affectionate too. He put his arm around me many times during the show. I got a video of the show the day we taped it and I took it to work and showed it to everyone in my department and they all just screamed every time he put his arm around me. I had a blast. I even got to drink a lot of wine with Lorianne and Tracy".
Cara, & Robert Kirkland pose with Tracy and Lorianne. That was not the end of Cara's fun with Tracy. She and her family were treated to a concert in Magic Springs AK. on July 3. She told me she had a great time. I heard she got front row seats. How Exciting!!! Here are some photos and memories that she has shared. "My family and me with Tracy on July 3, Magic Springs AK. after the concert. It was so hot outside but well worth enduring the heat for." Here's the shots Cara got from the front row!
Have a Nice Day! The picture below is a 2,000lb Joint Direct Attack Munition, or JDAM (or as I like to call it, 2,000 pounds of have a nice day). The JDAM was loaded up and yes, it was delivered. The picture was taken at an Air Base in the Middle East. Cliffy
Well, I just got word that the concert at the Grizzly Rose in Denver Colorado last night was awesome. Tracy and the guys played for about 2 1/2 hours. They played their usual set but also threw in many old country classics and some rock and roll as well. I heard the guys just had a ball up on that stage. I do know that the Grizzly Rose is one of their favorite places to play. I guess they showed that to the crowd last night. Wish we all could have been there. Well tonight they will be playing in Colorado Springs. I'll keep you updated on how that show goes too. Great job boys!!! Selina Tracy at the Radio Station WIL
92.3fm radio station here in St. Louis on December Story from Linda Browne I first saw Tracy on CMT when they played his video "Why Don't That Telephone Ring", which the song is on his first CD "Tracy Byrd". I was hooked from that time on. I loved his style of music and loved his voice. I thought to myself, that this guy will be a star one day!
I have seen over
50 shows and just loved everyone of them. I most of the time
just see Tracy and The Only way to Fly Band, in the area where I
live which is the St. Louis area. I have drove to Taylorville,
Ill which is only a 3 hour drive and Nashville, TN every year
for the Fan Club party that Tracy and the band gives us fan's
every year. It is always a nice party. Now, Tracy has his party
held at the Bass Pro Shop there in the new mall in Nashville,
and it is always a nice party. I once drove to Kansas City, MO
to take my sister and brother-in-law to meet Tracy for the first
time. (I was born and raised in Kansas City, MO. I still have
one brother and sister that lives there). My sister and
brother-in-law used Tracy's song in their wedding "Keeper
Of The Stars" so I took them to meet Tracy for part of
their wedding gift and of course they loved it.
This year I drove
to Fort Worth, Texas to see Tracy for the first time. I took
with me my daughter Mindy and my son's girlfriend Amy. We had a
wonderful time. I was able to meet a lot of the Byrdwatchers
that I never met before such as Selina, Shelli, Barbara and
others. I was so glad that I had the chance to finally meet
them.
The following
week I saw Tracy here in St. Louis and this is where our picture
was taken.
I just love
Tracy. He is my favorite Country Music Artist and my
"Hero". He has brought a lot of joy and love into our
lives and he is a good friend to all of us.
I have been with
Tracy since 1993 and will continue to support him forever. He is
a very nice person and a great entertainer and I hope for the
best for him in the up coming future.
We love ya
Tracy!!!

Great Concert I was at the Concert
at Fantasy Springs in Indio, Ca, I enjoyed the concert so much that
I called our local country station KPLM 106.4 the following day.
I have seen a lot of the old time stars of country and quite a few
of the new and upcoming stars. While talking to Randy Houston of
that station, I told him that if i had to rate TRACY BYRD and band
for music, entertainment and enjoyment, they would rate right up
there with one of the old timers i consider the best, ROY CLARK.
They both put on one HECK of a show, and TRACY was right there.
WELL DONE GUYS. Concert in Emnence MO. I saw Tracy & the Guys in july 2002 in Eminence Mo. I was with several aunts & a cousin. I wanted them to meet the guys because I told them how nice all were. My cousin was so shy around britt that when he talked to her she almost couldn't say anything. My aunts all thought he was so nice also. It was there first time to a tracy Byrd show. we all had a great time. Carol Great Show in Stockton, CA There were two shows at the fairgrounds in Stockton. What a show. The crowd went wild and Tracy and the band played hard. As the show went on the crowd loved it. The people were on their feet not long into the show. The evening show was just as great. Thanks guys for a very fun time! Selina
3 Cheers for Tracy! Story from Judy Awesome
Concert! Date: 22 Apr 2003 Story from Steve and Jane I seen Tbyrd at the Crazy Horse in Santa Ana CA. The first time I seen him I had just bought a new pair of boots and I squatted down to take a picture of him and I fell on my butt in front of 250 people. After the show I met Tracy for a minute then I met Britt he commented isn't it embarrassing falling on your butt in front of everyone like that. I guess Tracy thought it was pretty funny also. CHECK THE GUEST BOOK AREA, THERE'S A MESSAGE FROM LARRY. Thanks for the kind message Larry.
I wanted to mention
Tracy & The Only Way to Fly's, friend Larry Shelton.
He plays the trumpet with the band occasionally, & does a great
job. Larry is very personable & it seems like I
have known him forever, even though it has only been a short time
since we first met. I think he should play trumpet as
often as possible with Tracy & the guys. keep up the good
work. Carol
Story from Carol I first met Tracy in a
class at our hometown college. He sat in front of me & I
always thought he was so nice. The first time I heard him sing was
a few months later at a local club. I couldn't believe that
he was the same young man from the class. I just loved
the sound of his voice & the old country songs that he sang.
We became friends then & we still are today. I have seen his
concerts in several states, & I loved them all. I don't
get to hear him sing live as much as I would like, so I guess radio
& cd's will have to do. Thanks for all the great times
& "GREAT" friends I have made through the years.
Carol Story From Jim, First off I want to say that I living with
a very painful and chronic illness that there is no cure for, no one way
to treat it and it just keeps getting worse all the time so off I went to
Pebble Beach to live out a 20 yr dream and look who just happen to be
there the same day as me!! I went to play golf at Pebble Beach and
it was so kind of them to let me bride, Denise, ride with me. I was
put together with three of the nicest gents I have ever had the great
pleasure of meeting and becoming friends with. I just happen to be
put with Tracy Byrd, Johnny Lee Carpenter and Marc Matoska (Hmmm...
coincidence?) for the most fun I have ever had playing golf. I cant
say enough for how friendly and nice these new friends of mine are.
I needed help a lot with walking, getting out of traps, raking a
trap for me, assisting me walking up hill, looking for an errant ball or
just anything, and they were with me ALL the way. I just hope they
consider me a friend as much as I do them. I hope I can get them to
Long Beach sometime for some good food and some golf here in my town as my
guest. Tracy Byrd, Mark Matoska and Johnny, you are 3 very good men
and I appreciate your help and friendship guys for the best fun I have
ever had playing golf for what was a dream for me that was more than 20yrs
in coming and I know I couldn't have experienced my dream round of golf on
the famous Pebble Beach with and had this much fun with anyone else in the
whole world. I mean that. Endless thanks guys for making it
that much more special. Story from Lois. WOW. My first Tracy concert was in May, 2002 at Montana's in San Dimas. I was so totally blown away and excited about the performance and how he plays so well to the crowd. What an awesome entertainer he is!!! His band really gets into the music too !! What made it extra special was that Tommy Shane Steiner and Keith Urban joined him on stage to perform also. WOW !! After over 3 hours, it was time to say goodbye. I also got to met him at the Meet and Greet prior to the performance. I knew from that moment that I was going to love his live performance. I went home and told my husband he had to go to the next one. Lois
Story From Selina, My first concert I was blown away. I couldn't believe how wonderful these guys were. I said as soon as I stood up to leave that I was joining this fan club. I did and at the next concert my husband and I got to meet Tracy. Oh my gosh, he was so kind and sweet. He spoke to us as if we were the only people in the room. His gestures of hugs and kind greetings will be remembered forever. We talked about this wonderful experience all the way home. I have seen Tracy and the band many times since and every time I get to visit with any of them they all are so very sweet, warm and kind. I truly love seeing them. Thanks guys for your thoughtfulness. Selina
Montana's in San Dimas CA, May 23, 2002. This was the day after the ACM awards and as a surprise, Keith Urban and Tommy Shane Steiner showed up. Tracy invited each of them up on the stage to sing and play. Tracy and the band giggled and laughed and sang and played for hours. This concert was 3 1/2 hours long. The crowd just roared. Tracy sang all his hits and even some old country songs. Tracy and they guys played while Tommy sang and while Keith sang and played his guitar. This crowd really had a treat that night. It truly was the best. Selina
