This year Homecoming Weekend was April 2nd & 3rd, 2005. Wow what a wonderful event it was. All to benefit Children's Miracle Network.
Saturday - Fishing Tournament Lake Sam Rayburn and we had some beautiful weather. There were over 750 fisherman that took part in this event. The Grand Prize Ranger Boat valued over $32,000 was won by 24 year old Jonathon Simon. He caught the winning 8.64 lb bass in the first hour he was out on the lake. He said in just 5 feet of water. Great Job and congratulations Jonathon!!! Second place was won by Mike Laramore with a catch of 8.53lb. He drove home a 2005 Ford Pickup worth over $22,750. Third place Ken Barrington won a Cowboy Honda ATV with a catch of 8.17lb. Boy, this year there were some big fish caught. CMT even had their truck there with contests and music to entertain the crowd.
Here are some of the big catches I caught at the Tournament, enjoy the photos....
Here is the Grand Prize Ranger Boat.
Here's Danielle from CA standing behind the truck that Tracy and Zona drove up in after the Fishing Tournament.

Tracy
arrives at the Tournament from fishing with Buddy Zona Jones. He said they
didn't catch a thing this trip.
Tracy greeted the crowd and congratulated the winners with their awards. He had some wonderful comments... "The public response has been incredible" Tracy said. "To make this a success, it takes all of us, the volunteers, participants and the sponsors. It wouldn’t work without each and every one, and I appreciate everyone’s support more than anyone can know. I see several anglers who’s fished every year, and also a lot of new faces. I’d also like to thank the workers and volunteers who work so hard to make this happen. We’ve got the same group of ladies who have helped for the past ten years, and I don’t know why they keep coming back, we just work them to death! Also I’d like to thank our sponsors. It takes a lot of money to put an event like this on, and they cover the costs so that more money can go directly to the Children’s Miracle Network. Other worthy organizations has been benefactors in the past, but this is the only organization that I know of that the money raised on a local level stays here to help the people in East Texas."
The children even had a casting contest. Here are the winners
Here I am with my Tracy
Byrd cup and TByrd Bucks. Yes that's right, TByrd Bucks!! To buy food and
drinks you needed to exchange your real money for Byrd Bucks. Cute Idea!
Directly after the Fishing Tournament Tracy and Zona Jones both put on full shows with their bands on the driving range.
