Tracy Lynn Byrd Birthday December 17, 1966
Tracy
has enjoyed a successful music career that spans more than 16 years.
He began his journey toward stardom when he and a friend went to a
small recording store at local shopping mall in nearby Beaumont, TX where
he recorded a music demo of Hank Williams’ “Your Cheatin' Heart.”
The lady that worked there was so impressed, she suggested he enter a
local talent show. With
encouragement from his friend, Tracy entered and won beginning his career
as a country music talent who would soon be winning fans from all over the
world Shortly
thereafter, he began performing at the now renowned Cutters, a local honky
tonk in Beaumont. At first,
he played there part time while Mark Chesnutt headlined at the club.
But when Mark got his recording contract and headed to Nashville,
Tracy became the clubs main performer.
He played there 4-5 nights a week until in 1992 he got his big
break and won a contract with MCA. Tracy
has put together a new band. Tracy and his band
have been playing at
venues from coast to coast keeping us well entertained. Now under contract
with BMA, he has recorded eleven albums thus far.
He is currently working on his next album due out in the fall, and
the reaction the crowds are having from the new tunes he is performing at
his shows are getting rave reviews!
We all feel this is his best yet. A dedicated family man, Tracy has been married for seventeen years and has three beautiful children, a daughter and two sons. Tracy is also an avid hunter and fisherman. He has hosted for the Outdoor Network Channel, a great fishing show, "Strike King's Pro Team Journal" Tracy is an excellent speaker, and makes an excellent host. Tracy
shows he has a heart the size of Texas when it comes to children and
supporting charities, especially at home.
He has held an annual Homecoming Weekend event in Beaumont Texas where
he hosts a fishing and golf tournament as well as a concert. All proceeds
from these events go to the Children's Miracle Network, a charity
very close to Tracy's heart. The proceeds remain locally in Southeast
Texas. Tracy has been recognized for his contributions to his city by having the
Hyperbariatric Unit at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Beaumont named after
him. This is an honor for
Tracy, so many children will be helped at this center. Another
charity event that Tracy participated in was the Compaq Houston Marathon.
The event was held January, 2001 and was his first marathon. Tracy had
trained for over a year and a half but it was all worth it.
He finished, tired and sore, but proud.
After completing the marathon he donated the money he raised to
help the local Children's Miracle Network.
His fans were also very proud of his efforts. Not
only does Tracy gift us with his talent for singing, writing and
performing, he shares much more with us, he has learned to give to others,
stay true to his roots and beliefs while maintaining a balance between
family and career. He has earned our respect and admiration. |
